You’ve got this.

but we are still here just in case.

We advise that it takes about 10 hours to feel at total ease on your board so have created these guided paddles to help you achieve that confidence.

Our guided paddles are aimed for those who already know the basics of SUP, however want to paddle knowing there is someone with experience there if needed.

Come and paddle with our qualified SUP instructors who will take you on a wonderful paddle from one of our awesome Norfolk Riverside locations. They are there to help coach you and give you some useful helpful tips to paddle more efficiently.

Don’t have kit? No worries, we have it all covered. The price of the lesson includes all you will need.

Have your own Kit now… we will give you a free voucher for a Social paddle per session booked.

Each session lasts approximately 2 hours. Taking it nice and slow to give you plenty of opportunity to get to know your board.  We aim to spend most of the time on the water helping you gain that confidence.

Lessons will be carried out on the River Wensum/River Yare. Guidance states that you should wear a coiled leash in moving water.

Please make sure these are either ZIP or over the head buoyancy aids and not waist PFD’s. If you only have a waist PFD please let us know so we can lend you one.

We will be going in the water to practice self rescue so appropriate clothing is required.

Wetsuits (If you don’t have one, we have some available to hire) They are designed to keep you warm when you’re wet. They will trap a layer of water between you and the suit which then warms up, in-turn helping keep you warmer.

A windproof jacket to keep the chill off when you’re standing up.
A thin thermal layer under your suit always will help.

Wetsuit booties – barefoot or 3mm in the summer 5 – 7mm work in the winter
Old trainers – if you fall in they get wet but it’s better than bare feet when the water is cold
Neoprene socks – these can do the job too – good combo in the winter with a thinner boot.

Palm mitts or other neoprene gloves are great. The water can be cold.

Something to change into and some snacks for your journey home,

If you already have a board and want to bring that along, thats no problem. Your equipment is your responsibility and you will need to be happy that it will be fine to participate in the lesson.

We do have buoyancy aids, Safety Leash’s and Wetsuits to hire if required. Please make sure you contact us prior to your lesson so we can check availablity.

Please make sure you have all in the check list in order to participate in this activity.
